Cabarrus County Busted Mugshots
A mugshot is the photo taken at booking. The record that goes with it lists the basics. You get a name, an arrest date, the arresting agency, and the main charge. The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office runs the detention center at 30 Corban Avenue SE in Concord. The county's P2C jail-inmate page is the public starting point for current custody. There you'll find name details, physical descriptors, the arrest date, the booking agency, and an image control when the site offers one.
The roster answers one narrow question. It tells you whether someone sits in the county's detention system right now. A person released or transferred can drop off the live list while a case is still open in the courts. An arrest made in another county may never appear here at all. For anything beyond custody status, look to the court file instead.
What you see at intake is a starting point. It is not an ending. Charges can be amended, dismissed, reduced, or consolidated as a case moves forward. Court filings track those changes. The court record tells the fuller story.
Cabarrus Busted Booking Fields
The P2C list gives you a workable set of fields, but only that. A detail screen or a records response can look different. So pay attention to where a piece of data actually appears. Names alone can mislead, especially common ones. Match the arrest date, the booking agency, and the other fields on screen before you decide you've found the right record.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name, last, first, middle | The identity label entered in the jail system. Spelling, aliases, and suffixes can differ from a court file. |
| Race, sex, age | Basic identifying fields shown in the public list. They should support, not replace, identity checks. |
| Primary charge | The main charge label at booking. It is not a final judgment and may change in court. |
| Arrest date | The date labeled by the roster. It is not necessarily the incident date, first appearance, or disposition date. |
| Booking agency | The agency connected to the intake, which can help distinguish CCSO, Concord Police, Kannapolis Police, or another agency. |
| Image control | An interface control that may open an individual image. The county does not promise that every row has a public photo. |
| Bond, court date, release date | These are not dependable universal fields in the inspected public list. Verify them with the jail or court. |
A booking number may show up in a detail view. No single format holds across the board. Bond is a pretrial release condition, nothing more. A release is a custody event, not a court finding. Keeping those distinctions straight stops a simple roster row from saying more than it can.
Request a Cabarrus Busted Mugshot
The public roster exposes an Image field. A text-accessible view showed no inline photo, and the county publishes no general photo policy. So don't count on a picture existing, staying online, or remaining visible for any set time. When the image control comes up empty, go through the CCSO Civil and Records Division or the county's JustFOIA portal.
The Civil and Records Division sits at 30 Corban Avenue SE, fifth floor, Concord, NC 28025. The listed phone is 704-920-3100. The fax is 704-920-3055, and email goes to cabarrusrecords@cabarruscounty.us, with weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The official Cabarrus public-records request portal is another way in.
- Give the full name, an available date of birth, approximate arrest or booking date, arresting agency, and booking number if known.
- Ask for the booking record and booking photograph as separate items, if each is releasable.
- Request an electronic copy and ask for a fee quote and estimated response date before processing.
- If material is withheld, ask for the specific legal basis and any portion that can be released after redaction.
- Keep the confirmation and response. If the record belongs to a city police department, redirect the request to that agency.
North Carolina Chapter 132 backs public access to records and lets agencies charge actual reproduction costs where appropriate. The law has limits, though. It cannot force an agency to build a new record, hand over protected investigative material, or open a juvenile, sealed, or expunged file. Cabarrus sources list no fixed booking-photo fee and no guaranteed turnaround. Ask first rather than assume.
North Carolina Mugshot Law
North Carolina Chapter 132 treats photographs and electronic records made in the course of public business as public records in principle. G.S. 132-1.4 then draws the lines around criminal-investigation material and other protected content. Basic arrest facts can be public even when investigative details stay closed. Each request still gets weighed against custody, statute, and any redaction rules that apply.
G.S. 15A-502 governs when arrest photographs and fingerprints may be taken. It sets special limits for certain motor-vehicle misdemeanors and juveniles. Collection is one thing. Publication is another. Nothing in the statute obliges every North Carolina sheriff to post every image on a web roster. No enacted law bans all booking-photo publication or grants a universal removal right. A 2023 proposal, House Bill 778, never became law.
Want a changed outcome? Start with the official court result. The North Carolina expunction information page explains that eligibility and waiting periods depend on the statute involved. The expunction forms index lists different forms for different outcomes. An order may support correcting a copy, but it won't erase every independent web page on its own.
If an official entry is wrong, contact CCSO Civil and Records or the arresting agency. For a third-party copy, get the official correction or disposition settled first. Busted Newspaper offers a free removal route for errors and certain dismissed, expunged, sealed, and not-guilty matters. Mugshots.com says it takes no payment for removal and ties its process to expunction. Recently Booked, Arrests.org, and Mugshots.zone show no clear free path on their local pages. Never send money to an unknown service just because it promises deletion.
For a visual reference, the official North Carolina expunction forms index is the source shown below.

This source maps the court's forms route and nothing more. An expunction does not fit every charge, and it does not wipe away every copy floating around online.
How Long Until a Cabarrus Booking Appears?
How fast does Cabarrus post a new booking? No one promises a timeframe. The P2C page lists an arrest date and current-custody fields, yet it says nothing about how quickly a row or photo must show up. So a search can come up empty while the person was just processed, already released, moved to another facility, booked under a different name spelling, or held somewhere else entirely.
Start with the official roster. Then call CCSO Civil and Records and ask whether a releasable booking record or image exists. The records unit can name the custodian and quote any fee or response estimate. An unofficial recent-bookings page can't tell you the county's posting lag, and a blank result there proves nothing.
Cabarrus Bond and Release Records
Bond answers one question only. It sets the terms of pretrial release. The county's bond-policy resource sits in the local rules and forms area, though the public P2C list doesn't treat bond as a standard field. Bond shapes how long someone stays in custody, nothing more.
For the bond order and case events, go through the Clerk or court route. The jail answers current-custody questions, and CCSO Records holds agency booking records. Don't read release timing into a third-party bond label or into a roster row that quietly vanished. Neither tells the real story.
How to Find Cabarrus Busted Mugshots
The right lookup depends on where the person stands. Just booked and still held? Check the county roster. Already released? A records request may be the only path. Serving a state sentence or on supervision? That's NCDAC territory. A federal detainee needs a federal locator. Following that order keeps you from mistaking one database for a full history.
- Search the official Cabarrus P2C jail roster by last name, then add first name and compare the agency and arrest date.
- For Concord events, check Concord P2C, which offers event search and a Recent Arrests area.
- For a released person or a missing image, contact CCSO Records or the arresting police records unit, and use JustFOIA where appropriate.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, probationer, or parolee, check the NCDAC Offender Locator. It excludes county-jail information.
- For the legal outcome, search the North Carolina court Portal by name, county, and case number, then read the disposition.
A blank search result doesn't mean the arrest never happened. The gap could come from release, a transfer, another county, a name spelled differently, or a separate state or federal custody system. For current custody, call the county jail at 704-920-3058. The Sheriff's general line is 704-920-3000.
Where Cabarrus Busted Mugshots Appear
Start with official sources. News sites and commercial aggregators can add context or dated copies. They can't replace the county roster, the arresting agency, or the court. The table marks which custody or record state each channel actually answers.
| Channel | Photo? | Official? | Use it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cabarrus P2C jail roster | Image control may appear | Yes | Current Cabarrus detention, roster fields, arrest date, agency. |
| CCSO Records and JustFOIA | Request, if releasable | Yes | Booking records or photos after a person leaves the live roster. |
| Concord P2C | Not guaranteed | Yes, municipal | Concord events, recent arrests, and report-search routes. |
| Cabarrus Sheriff app | Not promised | Yes | Inmate and jail information, court-date lookup, tips, and alerts. |
| NCDAC | Check the profile | Yes | State prison, probation, parole, and historical state-system records. |
| Court Portal | No booking-photo promise | Yes | Case events and disposition, not current jail custody. |
| Recently Booked, Busted Newspaper, Mugshots.com, Arrests.org, Mugshots.zone | Often displayed | No | Unofficial dated leads only. Copies can be incomplete or stale. |
| Independent Tribune, WBTV, WSOC, Charlotte Observer | Article dependent | No | Newsworthy crime and court coverage, not a complete roster. |
The county-local pages for Recently Booked, Busted Newspaper, Mugshots.com, Arrests.org, and Mugshots.zone may attach city or agency labels to their listings. None of them is a county feed. Treat them as copies, not as the source.
To see the official roster route for yourself, the Cabarrus P2C jail page is the source shown below.

This interface view shows the search path and its Image control. It isn't a gallery, and it doesn't promise a public photograph on every row.
Busted and Booked: Jail Roster
The Cabarrus P2C roster is a live tool for current custody. Type a last and first name and hit Search. You can also use the Filter Inmate List option. The table shows name fields, race, sex, age, primary charge, arrest date, booking agency, and an Image column. Its purpose is narrow. It answers one question: who is incarcerated at the Cabarrus County Detention Center right now. It is not every arrest in the county. It is not a permanent archive either.
- Open the official jail-inmate page and enter a last name first.
- Add a first name if needed, then compare the full displayed name, age, agency, and arrest date.
- Read the primary charge with the roster’s innocence and change-in-court warning.
- Use the individual Image control only if the interface opens one. Popup blocking or a PDF requirement can affect what appears.
- If there is no result, consider release, transfer, another booking county, or the records-request fallback.
No refresh schedule exists here. The portal posts no deadline and no web-retention promise, and the state retention schedule is a separate matter. Some non-case identification photos and incarceration records carry a three-year schedule after the event, while case files follow their own rules. That doesn't mean P2C keeps an image online for three years.
Need an answer now? Call the jail at 704-920-3058 for present custody. For a formal booking or image request, use CCSO Civil and Records at 704-920-3100 or the county portal. Court outcomes belong to the Clerk route and the Judicial Branch Portal.
Recent Cabarrus Busted Bookings
CCSO offers no separate page promising a 24-hour, 48-hour, 72-hour, or weekly booking feed. The roster displays an arrest date. But there's no "posted at" field, no guaranteed archive, and no stated cadence. Calling it a recent-arrests feed would oversell the page. Current custody with date fields is the honest label.
Concord is the one municipal exception. Its P2C site offers Event Search, a Recent Arrests area, and a Daily Bulletin link. A disclaimer covers arrests, accidents, and other events inside a chosen period. One caution: the Daily Bulletin URL has redirected to an unrelated Concord P2C Law Blog. Verify it before relying on it. Concord gives you an event-search path, not a confirmed photo-feed schedule.
On the unofficial side, Recently Booked advertises a dated Cabarrus collection in the roughly last-30-days style. It refreshes several times a day. Arrests.org organizes by date. Busted Newspaper keeps deep dated pagination. Mugshots.zone blends recent and older entries. These copies may omit records, duplicate them, or keep them after the official source changes. Once someone is released, a CCSO request is the dependable fallback.
Timing note: Cabarrus publishes no official time-to-post promise, so an absent new booking needs verification through the roster and CCSO Records.
NCDAC Offender Photos
North Carolina's prison agency keeps its own public database, and it reaches far back. The NCDAC Offender Public Information Search covers state inmates, probationers, and parolees, with files going back to 1972. County jail inmates are left out entirely. So a person sitting in the Cabarrus County Detention Center can show up on the county roster yet be missing from NCDAC altogether. The two systems simply track different groups.
Names work for searching, but numbers work better. Offender IDs are seven digits, and leading zeroes are optional. A docket number, county code, SID, or a transport ID starting with T plus six digits can also narrow things down. Not every profile shows a photo, though. The public landing page never promises one.
Here is a common snag: after sentencing, a person may stay in the local jail while waiting for state transport. NCDAC will not reveal the transport day or destination ahead of arrival, and diagnostic processing can stretch to six weeks. That delay is exactly why county and state lookups disagree. When you see "Cabarrus jail," think local custody. "NCDAC" points to state custody or supervision.
Need a state-held record? File through the NCDAC public-records request form. That route replaces neither CCSO's booking-photo process nor the official NCDAC locator shown below.

The locator offers a state-system search route. It is not a county booking archive, and it does not promise a public booking photo.
Booked, Released, or Sentenced?
Results shift because custody changes. Keep the question and the source lined up.
| Status | Best source | What it can establish |
|---|---|---|
| Just booked and held locally | Cabarrus P2C roster or jail | Current local custody and visible booking fields. |
| Released or transferred | CCSO Records, arresting agency, JustFOIA | Agency-held booking or incident material, if releasable. |
| Case in court | NC Judicial Branch Portal and Clerk | Case events and disposition, subject to public-record limits. |
| State prison or supervision | NCDAC locator | State-system custody or supervision, not county intake. |
| Federal custody | BOP locator or federal court | Federal BOP location/status. BOP does not provide public booking photos. |
Federal inmates from 1982 onward appear in the BOP locator, searchable by register number or identifying fields. ICE and U.S. Marshals custody are separate systems. No Cabarrus-specific ICE contract or public USMS mugshot roster has surfaced. Also worth knowing: an immigration detainer does not always mean a fresh ICE booking.
Cabarrus eCourts Case Path
Cabarrus moved onto the North Carolina Judicial Branch eCourts platform in October 2024. The county's court page now routes visitors to the statewide Portal, local rules, criminal calendars, and forms. This matters for anyone following an older article or set of instructions. Those guides may still point to a legacy search route. The old path no longer matches the current one.
When you search, stack the details. Include booking name, arrest date, agency, and case number. Then track down the disposition event. Think of the Portal as the court path and P2C as the custody path. Match a court entry to a jail row with care. One name alone can pull up several different people.
After a Cabarrus Busted Booking
Jail records and court records go their separate ways after intake. A P2C row might list the arrest date and charge. The full bond order, first-appearance time, and final outcome are another story. For case-status questions, Cabarrus's roster sends you to the Clerk of Court at 704-262-5500. Court materials sit on the Judicial Branch Cabarrus page. That includes the Portal, criminal calendars, local rules, and forms.
- Copy the official name, arrest date, booking agency, and charge exactly as displayed.
- Search the Portal with Cabarrus County and narrow by case number or other matching detail.
- Compare the booking charge with the court case because a charge can be amended, joined, dismissed, reduced, or diverted.
- Read the disposition event. A scheduled court date is not the outcome.
- Booking
- Jail intake after an arrest, including identity, charge, and custody data.
- Arraignment or first appearance
- An early court event where the case and release issues may be addressed.
- Bond
- A pretrial release condition. It is not a sentence or finding of guilt.
- Disposition
- The court’s recorded outcome for a charge or case.
- Expunction
- A court process that can remove or limit eligible records under a specific statute.
October 2024 brought eCourts to Cabarrus. Older instructions may point at systems the Portal has since replaced. One more caution: a name search can return more than one person. Confirm the county and the case number before tying any court result to a jail entry.
App Alerts and Custody Changes
The Cabarrus County Sheriff app opens another official door. Its 2025 upgrade announcement lists inmate search and jail information, court-date lookup, booking procedures, bail-bonding details, legal-resource contacts, tips, news, and emergency alerts. The Google Play listing credits OCV LLC as developer under the name "Cabarrus County Sheriff." Nowhere do the public descriptions promise a separate booking-photo stream.
Notifications have their own system. NC SAVAN covers county-jail inmates, state prisoners, probationers, parolees, and registered sex offenders, sending status alerts by phone and email plus other methods. It is neither a mugshot feed nor a court database. The county announcement details the app's full feature list.
Handy as the app is, it stands beside the roster, records unit, court, and state custody search rather than in place of them.
Cabarrus Records and Fees
Cabarrus posts a clear records contact. The sources show no booking-photo fee and no response deadline. Treat that silence as your answer. Make the request narrow, ask the price before work begins, and ask when a response should arrive. State law and redaction rules settle what can be released.
| Need | Route |
|---|---|
| Current local custody | Jail roster or 704-920-3058. |
| Booking record or photo | CCSO Civil and Records, 704-920-3100, or Cabarrus JustFOIA. |
| Concord-held report | Concord Police Records, 704-920-5052. |
| Kannapolis-held report | KPD Records, 704-920-4129, KPD_records@kannapolisnc.gov, or Kannapolis JustFOIA. |
| State custody record | NCDAC public-records request form. |
Which agency holds what depends on who made the arrest. The jail may keep the booking sheet and photo while the arresting city police department holds the incident report. Harrisburg contracts with CCSO for law enforcement, records, booking, and jail functions. Concord and Kannapolis run their own departments. Send the request to the custodian named in the official booking entry.
Cabarrus Busted Mugshots by City
City-level searches cut tighter than the county system. Concord has its own municipal P2C event path. Kannapolis straddles the Cabarrus and Rowan county line, so the arresting agency and the actual booking facility both need checking. Harrisburg has no town police force and relies on CCSO. The city pages keep these differences in view.
- Concord Busted Mugshots: Concord Police P2C and county detention routing.
- Kannapolis Busted Mugshots: KPD Records, county-line caution, and county roster fallback.
- Harrisburg Busted Mugshots: CCSO contract policing and county records path.
Population counts are context, never arrest totals. The 2020 Census puts Concord at 105,240, Kannapolis at 53,114, and Harrisburg at 18,967. None of those figures show bookings or where an arrest was processed. Match a person to an agency and a facility instead.
Older Cabarrus Busted Records
North Carolina sets its own clock for old booking records. Under the Sheriff’s Office retention schedule, ID photos held outside a case file may stay on a three-year plan. The same goes for inmate incarceration records, counted from release or transfer. When a photo sits inside a felony or misdemeanor case file, it follows case-history rules instead, and those can run much longer. None of this governs what a copied web page shows; it governs how the agency itself keeps its files.
Older Cabarrus County busted records take real digging. The NC Archives county records box lists will tell you whether county or court material moved to the state, was indexed, got digitized, or still sits in local hands. The Archives sits at 109 East Jones Street, Raleigh, NC 27601. Call 919-814-6840 or write archives@dncr.nc.gov. No digitized Cabarrus Sheriff mugshot collection exists, so requests need specifics: agency, record series, date range, names, and case numbers. Ask whether the Clerk, the CCSO, or the Archives holds what you want.
A vanished roster row means nothing by itself. Current custody, court history, state supervision, and federal custody each live with a different custodian on a different timetable, so a case can outlast any one listing.
Presumed Innocent, Always
Use these public channels the way they were meant to be used. They serve lawful records requests, personal knowledge, custody confirmation, court-process understanding, and public-safety notifications. A charge label on a screen was never meant to settle anything about a person.
